HAIER Dehumidifier DE65EJ-L = E1 Error after one year's use....unfixable !
Worked well for one year (~May-Sept in IOWA 2011)Very noisy but efficient.But, at start of 2nd year, when plugged in the displays all turn 'on' and the number windows both show '88',
after a few seconds all displays go 'out' and the top number window = 'E1' and nothing else happens.
Pressing any control, including Power has no effect.
To turn the unit off you have to unplug it. When plugged back in, after ~10sec - or more, the 'cycle' described above repeats.
Checked the manual - but NO info on E1 (or ANY error code)
Called Haier (1-877-337-3639). Was told E1 means SERIOUS error - they replace the unit for this problem.
But, RECEIPT is required (to prove it's still under warranty).
Unless warranty is presented they can't help....end of story !!
