Drum Motor Not Getting Power
Dryer only 2 years old. worked fine one night, next day, push start and drum will not turn. THERE WAS NO LIGHTING STORMS OVERNIGHT. No sound that motor is "humming" or getting power, belt and drum look fine. Service (non Whirlpool) guy says: Replace start button, and need to replace timer because heating element is on event when door is open. Door switch working (light goes on and off). Service guy says timer not sending power to motor. Also, I took start switch apart, and filed clean burnt contact. This did not fix problem. Electric contact will not close on it's own. But if I close it manually, it releases when timer moved to off. Service guy said cost to replace parts and labor is not worth fixing, go buy new dryer. Very upsetting, dryer not used that much, only two people in the house and this is our winter house in S. Carolina, we are gone back to CT almost hald the year. Please help.
