You shouldn't need a driver for an external hard drive. Windows 10 will automatically load its own mass storage driver when you plug it in. If it has trouble detecting it, make sure you use it in a USB port with no other drives plugged in near it (they can conflict). Also, a bad hard drive inside the external case can cause them to have trouble detecting the drive when plugged in. The drive would need testing. If you plug it in to another computer and have the same trouble, the drive may be failing
