Why Is It That When I Turn On My Labtop It Says Toshiba Goes Blank?

when i turn on my labtop it says toshiba then goes to a black screen with a dash at the top of the screen how could i fix this?

There are actually several possible reasons why your computer goes black during the startup process. Some of these reasons are the following:
  • Display Adapter Error
  • Faulty Ram
  • Not Enough Power
  • New Hardware Installed
  • USB Still Attached
  • Corrupted Boot Sector
