My Zte Merit 990g Shuts Off!

I recently bought a straight talk zte merit 990g and like it, except it randomly shuts off and restarts itself. it does it randomly. it does it during text messages, playing games, and just randomly in my pocket to. is this a power save setting that i can shut off? does the phone need to be reset? or is the phone not working properly?

To reset the device Press the Menu Key > Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset > Reset phone > Erase everything.before u do the reset on your device u need to back up all the datas and contacts to SD card this method will erase all the datas and contacts or u can Straight Talk on "877-430-2355" they would assist further u further regarding this issue.
