I Have A Problem With My Digital Camera, A Sony Cyber-shot Dsc-hx50.
I have a problem with my digital camera, a Sony Cyber-shot Dsc-hx50. When I start my SONY Cyber-shot DSC-HX50, I read the message: "Memory card locked, check the tab." Then "Memory card locked. Cannot update Image Database File". THE MEMORY CARD IS NOT LOCKED AT ALL!!! I MANAGED TO TAKE PICTURES WITH MY OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA WITH THE SAME MEMORY CARD WITH THE TAB IN THE SAME UNLOCKED POSITION!!! It is a SD HC 8 GB. I have used this memory card with success for years with my previous camera (also a Sony Cyber-shot) and for 6 months with my Sony Cyber-shot Dsc-hx50. When I insert another card (SD HC 4 GB) in my Sony Cyber-shot Dsc-hx50, I have the same messages! So the problems seem to come from my Sony Cyber-shot Dsc-hx50!!! I formatted my card several times on my PC with “SDFormatter” using the options “Full (Erase)” and also “Full (Overwrite)” It did NOT solve the issue! What can I do? Thank you very much in advance! Backup the cards data to your pc, don't reformat on your pc.
When you use a memory card with this camera for the first time, it is recommended to format the card using the camera for stable performance of the memory card before shooting.
Note that formatting permanently erases all data on the memory card, and is unrecoverable. Save precious data on a computer, etc.
1. MENU >(Settings) >(Memory Card Tool) or (Internal Memory Tool) >[Format] >[OK].
