How Do I Download Video Content From My Sony Dcr Pc109e To My Pc (windows 8.1)

I have the Sony DCR PC 109E. I have an I Link to USB cable, but the PC is not recognising the camera(I'm using windows 8.1). My PC does not have an I Link port. I have downloaded the "Play Memories Home" software too. Is there any hope at all? I have not downloaded even 1 tape onto my PC for the last 10 years (and I have a load of them)

Hi,

your best bet would be to upload vids on an old computer as in windows xp/vista . . anything from windows 7 on up will not work or you will risk damaging devices.
