one known problem with this unit is a defective backlight

need to send to a service center but expensive repair

inverter board part number: RDENC2590TPZZ

there are three major possibilities: 1) bad connections. The inverter has loose mounting screws, this is how the board is grounded to the chassis or the plugs need to be reseated. 2) a section of the inverter is bad and you need a new board (see link above). 3) one of the lamps inside the panel (one of the many horizontally mounted florescent lamps behind the LCD display).

In options 2) and 3) the lamp that fails to light (whether it's from a bad inverter section or the lamp is bad) the section of the screen will appear darker than the rest during the few seconds it's lit up during start up. when a lamp fails the inverter senses it and turns them all off (this is a normal condition to stop from damaging the rest of the circuit that's working)
