Can I Claim Samsung Galaxy S2 Warranty Without The Proof Of Purchase?

I bought a samsung galaxy s2 from someone else, it was new but the invoice from the shop wasn't included. Now the screen has a thick black stain in the middle of it and the rest of the screen is gone darker. I don;t know why this is happened but i wish to claim the warranty and not sure if I can without the proof of purchase. The phone hasnt been in the market fot two years yet so it is obvious that the warranty hasnt expired yet.
