Samsung Sgh-i917 Sd Card Photos

I'm wondering how to access previously existing information from past phones that were located on my microSD card. When I insert the card into my samsung SGH-i917 phone, it doesn't show my photos in the albums, nor can I find an option to select the SD card to access them! Thank you
