Volume Control Will Not Hold Position,turning Volume Up Then Goes Back Down

I suspect the volume down switch is bad on the function board (http://www.encompassparts.com/item/7708102/Samsung/BN96-07269A/Assy_Board_P-function#). play with the uttons to see if you can break the switch free, or change it. you could disconnect it and use the remote
