The problem is the lamp driver, it can be repalced by dell for $250 plus parts. The specific problem is a capacitor on the driver board, if you know someone who can work on electronics have them replace the 3300u 10v capacitor on the lamp driver board. Usually the capacitor will be slightly bulged on the top (not flat) indicating it needs replacing. Otherwise look for a electronics repair shop in your area and set them in the right direction.
