Firmware Update Onkyo Sr 494

I am trying to do a firmware update on my Onkyo TX-SR494. I have downloaded the update to a USB drive, but there is no USB drive on my unit front or rear

Turn on the receiver and select the SETUP input on the front panel, then select "7. Misc", press Enter, then "F/W Update" and press Enter, scroll down to select "Update via USB". 3. Press the "Enter" button on the front panel to begin the update

To update the firmware on your Onkyo TX-SR494, you will need to follow these steps:

Download the latest firmware from the Onkyo website.

Create a bootable USB drive with the firmware file.

Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the back of the receiver.

Turn on the receiver.

Press and hold the "Setup" button on the receiver's remote control.

While holding the "Setup" button, press the "Input" button on the remote control.

The receiver will enter the firmware update mode.

The firmware update will start automatically.

Once the firmware update is complete, the receiver will restart.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind when updating the firmware on your Onkyo TX-SR494:

Make sure that the receiver is turned off before you insert the USB drive.

Make sure that the USB drive is formatted as FAT32.

Only use the firmware file that is specifically designed for your receiver model.
