'rx' Does Not Disappear On My Old Fv200 Talkabout
Dear Motorola,I have a set of old FV200 TalkAbout walkie-talkies that I only used a few times and then stored for a long time. A couple days ago, I took them out, put new batteries in them and learned that one of the unit will always show 'RX' on its display even when the other unit is turned off and will not receive any transmission from the other unit. It turns on and I can control it using all physical buttons so I don't think it is dead or physically broken. To fix the problem, I tried changing batteries, I tried changing channels, and I tried almost everything that I found on the internet but none of these remedies worked. Though old, they still are in a very good condition and it would be a shame if I have to throw them away, so I am asking for help. Can you please tell me how I can get the 'RX' signal off my unit? Thanks in advance for your kind help and support.Regards,MJK

The problem you have is a problem many others have with these little radios, you only have to read through the other entries on this sight to see that you are not alone.
Motorola is a good brand/Make, but these little units are mass produced under licence in China for a price, and to a specific standard.
My advice, as it has been given to others with your problem, is to buy a reasonable radio, say a 5 watt CB radio HH on ebay, with charger. they are reasonably priced and if something goes wrong, there is always help available to fix them.
You only get what you pay for, and this is very true with radio equipment.
Sorry, that I can't help with your radio, but a better quality radio always gets a fix. To people who take this hobby seriously, we refer to these Chinese made units as toys...
I wish you luck in getting a better radio.
