Blue Dots On The Hitachi 55vf820
We have blue dots on just about half of the screen. The bulb was replaced about a month ago and fixed that problem. Now we have the blue dots on the screen and they seem to be getting worse. There are pictures attached.

this set is an LCD rear projection TV with three different mini LCD panels used to produce the picture (a red, green and blue one). The blue one is damaged and as time goes on it will grow worse (especially with a new lamp). The heat has done the damage. The only fix is to install a new optical engine, and currently there are rebuilt engines available (new ones were over $1200). The part number is UX25302R, and the process of changing it out is lengthy so I recommend a technician do it for you.
