Error Message On Our Hp Officejet Pro 8600 'pick Motor Stalled' - What Do I Do?

The pick motor pulls the paper through the machine for printing. I tried to print a sheet of slightly heavier paper (one my last printer would handle without a problem) and got this error message continually afterward. After resetting the printer without any luck, I pulled out the paper tray completely and noticed the roller at the back was dislodged and thus unable to spin. I was able to click it back into place and the printer works fine now. A stuck sheet of paper would probably do the same thing so be sure the roller is spinning freely before trying any other steps. If it's clear and you've reset the printer, call HP support because your motor may be bad.
