Hp 3390 All In One Printer

I have an HP LaserJet 3390 All-in-One printer. It has always worked fine until I got a new HP TouchSmart with Windows 7. Now everything works fine with the exception of my scanner. I can preview in the scan mode, but the scanner will not scan. I contacted HP and they were not able to help me. I have read on many different online posts that it is an error that HP is supposed to be fixing and then releasing a patch for....any ideas on how to fix, maybe a workaround? Thank you, Karla
