Resistance Motor Wants To Keep Running?

On my Healthrider H30X. I cant change the resistance. When I push the numbers the resistance motor turns counter clockwise and keeps running. When I push the manual button, the motor reverses and wont stop. Am I doing somthing wrong, is the motor shot, or do I have a bigger problem? I am on a disability and cant afford a service call! I have had this machine just over 1 year and hardley used it. Now that I need it, it wont work propreley!

If the resistance isn't working from the console, I suggest you go to page 9 for the procedure to ADJUST THE DRIVE BELT.
