Garmin Nuvi260 Will Not Stay On

My husbands Garmin will shut itself off when he's driving down the road.  Keeps saying low battery, even tho  the charger is plugged in.  Wondering if it's a bad charger, or is there a battery that should be changed? Thanks Dawn [email protected]
