Loosing Wifi Connection

I am using my dell s320 wi with a mac connecting over the wireless network. Unfortunately i lose the connection each 2 minutes and need to reconnect. Can anybody help? Thank you in advance

1. Lots of wifi connections on your router can sometimes hinder you a little. Not saying it WILL but it might. Take a look how many wireless clients you have connected. Mess around with it a little. Most routers these days, i'm hoping, should be able to handle the traffic. But it's just a thought.

 

2. Make sure it's on a channel not conflicting with others in the area. 1, 11, and 7 seem to be common channels. You can freely download some software (MAC OS Has this built in by option-clicking on the wifi signal symbol, then selecting "Open wireless diagnostics". In some cases the device might even have a site survey available [or it's with the dd-wrt firmware]) and see what the channels are around you. Try to choose a channel that isn't being used.

 

3. Some device have the option to broadcast at either 20MHz or 40MHz. try switching to the 40MHz band using N and G only and so far it feels a little more stable. Haven't really lost connection since (Crossing fingers). But it's at least a step in the right direction i believe.
