Power Draining

I recently replaced the battery in my PT Cruiser Touring Edition with a regular battery from Wal-Mart.  I am now having troubles with it not starting.  I took it in to the dealership and they said it is the battery that I have in it now is the problem.  Do I really need to buy a specific battery?
