This Keyboard Is Curious

My grandmother picked up one of these keyboards up and there's a disclaimer that keys do not work. I originally thought "Oh they're just dirty and need to be cleaned, no problem." But the keys do in fact work but only when you're in demo mode and there's a song playing? How do I fix this? Also the keyboard usually shuts off by itself while it's being played but it seemed to fix itself since last time. Should I let my guard down and not worry about that issue? Thank you!!
