Scanning To Windows 10 Pc With Canon Pixma Mp495 Ws

new windows 10 PC can print wirelessly to Canon MP495 printer but can't scan with Canon MP Navigator scan utility. Does anyone have any ideas?

Remove all drivers for your Canon MP495 from the device manager.
Download and install the latest drivers fromhttp://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp495#DriversAndSoftware
Install the drivers- and you'll notice in 'Devices and Printers' that you have a new printer called 'Canon MP495 series Printer'. This will allow you to print, but you'll still have the issue of the scanner not being detected. If you right click on the printer, the 'Scan' option is also missing.
With the Canon MFC powered on, and connected to your network, click 'Add a device' from the 'Devices and Printers' window. It will detect your Canon again (even though the drivers are already installed).
Select the printer, and click 'Next'.
It will now install a second device called 'Canon MP495 series Printer WS', so you now have two different devices, for the same printer, appear in 'Devices and Printers'.

Set the 'Canon MP495 serious Printer WS' as your default printer, and leave the other one installed (don't remove it, or it will cause issues). You'll now be able to scan and print to the 'Canon MP495 series Printer WS' (you can test the scanner using Windows Fax and Scan).
