Black Ink Cartridge Prints In Red

I put a new Black 240XL in my Canon MX452 and if I push copy in BLACK it prints the whole thing in RED or PINK. It I tell it to print from the computer in Black it works fine. What is going on? This is the 2nd time it has done this. Not sure what caused it to print in Black again, but now it won't copy in Black.

Hi. Please do note that several printer's will mix the black color with other color inks to produce both the gray color and toned black color. The reddish pink color you get means that the catridge you have just installed is not issueing out in which was suppose to be the last coat upon the magenta (reddish pink color you see)
