Benq 820 Dlp Projector

In the past 24 month I have purchased 8 Benq 820 projectors. They work fine for about 6 months and will go extremely dim. Replacing the lamp has no effect on correcting the dimness. Benq did repair the units under the warranty, but now my warranties have expired and refuse to fix them anymore. There is an obvious defect with the unit and will not tell me what the problem is. Can you tell me what part is going bad so I can tell a service tech what needs to be done to fix the projector? Thanks for your help
