How To Backup And Restore An Ipod That Is Overfull, And Frozen By Last Os Upgrad
HOW TO backup and restore an ipod touch [4rth gen / OS 6...?] - that is too overfull to backup [esp. the photo folder, which has 30,000+ images] -- AND which was frozen by last OS upgrade attempt (via itunes) . . . Since when, ittunes only interaction with the ipod, is now a pop-up button message offering to (erase the contents by a) restore without option of backup . . . Which will be my LAST RESORT, if i must do so . . .i am hoping -- as part of any solution to salvage the contents / files -- that somehow it's possible to simply increase the buffer size of the destination backup folder, to allow the photo cache to upload . . . BTW - even before the freeze-up, my laptop [running Win7] doesn't seem to recognize the ipod as a drive -- SO it might not be an option to attempt copying the entire "drive image" [if possible at all] -- whether or not the files could be extracted from that - or if it such would serve as a backup [before restoring the ipod, as per itunes, of course] . . .Any solution or link to such would be greatly appreciated, thanks !Vex ((Vex Vuthor))< = >

Go here & here for some possible fixes for the stuck startup condition. Here's a tutorial on resetting the settings & keeping your data.
