Washer Is Frozen With Door Lock Light Flashing.

I only had this washer delivered on Tuesday. In the middle of a cycle, it froze and the door lock light is flashing. None of the other buttons are working. We unplugged it for a few hours, but no change. What can we do?

There are many different models of Whirlpool Duet washers. Here are some general tips that may help:

Open the door and then close it firmly. The washer will not start if it does not detect that the door was opened following the completion of the previous cycle. It will also not start if it detects that the washer door is open.

Make sure that you hold down the start button for at least one deliberate second when starting the washer.

To cancel a cycle, push the pause/cancel button twice.

If you are not able to clear the display and start a cycle, try completely unplugging the washer for 5 minutes and then plug it back in. You may have control board that is frozen up due to a power surge or glitch through the electrical lines. Completely disconnecting electrical power for 5 minutes may reset the control board so that it will operate properly.

The washer will normally display an error code such as FdL (door lock) or F14 (control board error). If you see one of these error codes, resubmit your question with this additional information and the full model number of your Whirlpool Duet washer.

With a full model number, we can normally provide more diagnostic help and advice to help you resolve this problem.
