Disposal Blade Does Not Move
What does it mean when the disposal blade does not move, but there is sort of a humming noise?

Hello wrid99,
When you can hear the disposal is on but the blades do not turn usually means that something has gotten caught in the blades, which does not allow the flywheel to move.
Turn off the circuit breaker and insert a broom handle into the drain and manually turn the blades with the handle to try and free whatever is causing the blockage.
Caution: Never stick your hand inside the drain as the flywheel blades are sharp and can cut.
Turn on the circuit breaker and try turning on the disposal again. If this still will not work. Then turn off the circuit breaker and try a couple more times.
If the blades still won't work, then you may want to consider getting a new one.
