Our TRU9485 at times constantly rings not allowing a caller to speak or the answering machine to take the message. This has only happened a few times recently.

Setting the Number of Rings

The ring time setting allows you to set the number of rings the caller hears before your answering machine plays the outgoing message. You can set the ring time to answer after two, four, or six rings. If you enable the Toll Saver (TS setting), the answering machine picks up after two rings if you have new messages, and after four rings if there are none. This way, if you make a long distance call to check your messages, you can hang up after the second ring to avoid long distance billing charges.

From the base or handset:

Press the MENU soft key. Select the ANSW. SETUP menu, and then the RING TIME submenu.

Move the cursor to select a Ring Time (2 TIMES, 4 TIMES, 6 TIMES or TOLL SAVER

Press the soft key. You will hear a confirmation.

If that doesn't correct the rings then power cycle the base unit & check that the phone jack is completely seated in the jack.

I hope this is helpful to you!
