Why Is There A Charge For A Reservation I Madevalmostb2 Weeks Ago?

when I reserved through trivago it said my card would not be charged and it was, for the full amount of the room, even though I paid cash. The charge has shown as "pending" on my account since then. That Charge needs to be taken off of my credit card. Howard Johnson hotel is telling me Trivago is responsible .

However...

Trivago does not do any booking. So despite what you may have been told, it's hard to see how Trivago could be responsible. The booking was done by a booking site whose logo you'll see at the top at http://company.trivago.com/support/. To identify it, you should be able to find its name on your booking confirmation email. If you cannot find your confirmation email, you can always search on Trivago for the hotel and dates you booked. You may also be able to find more information by looking in your browser history for the day you made the booking. You can also try checking your credit card or bank statement, as the name of the booking site may appear next to the outgoing payment.
