L655d-s055 Laptop Spins Up But Won't Start
After pushing the start button, the first three lights turn on and the fan spins, but the computer won't boot up. Hard drive failure? Or is it something else.

You will need your serial number or model code from underneath the laptop to obtain the correct guide. Check that the power supply is OK as there may be enough power in the battery but not enough to enable the laptop to boot. Another thing to try is removing the battery and boot with only the power supply. Also check that the ram is seated. Can you hear the drive spinning? Is it making a noise that does not appear right. That would suggest a hard drive error but try these things first before condemning it.
