Toshiba Lx830 10 U

Hi, i recently purchased a Toshiba lx830 10u i think its a very good PC but i found one problem with it. I found that while on video chat to somebody they couldn't hear me very clearly at-all so i tried it with my tablet and found the sound is perfect on it, and  the other person could hear me so that just proved there was a problem with the PC microphone i was wondering whether it is a fault with the pc make in general or is there something i can do to fix it. Thanks
