This depends on your TV.  The TV must have audio outputs.

You would need some RCA audio cables (available at Radio Shack,  Walmart, or any number of other stores) to hook things up.  An example of cables is here: http://www.cablestogo.com/product_list.asp?cat_id=2004&gclid=CPeNx-KuqKkCFcYbQgodGmpGMQ&cm_mmc=AdWords-_-Audio%20Video%20Cables-_-rca%20audio%20cables_2889563331-_-rca%20audio%20cables_Exact_&cm_guid=1-_-100000000000000145507-_-2889563331

Connect the cable between the audio outputs on the back of the TV (usually a red and a white plug) and the auxiliary input on the Sony.  If the TV has no audio outputs and you have a DSS satellite receiver or cable box that should have the appropriate outputs.

Turn on the TV and select the auxilliary input on the Sony.  You should get TV sound.  I have my TV set up similarly.

You can get a copy of the user guide, setup guide, and operating instructions for the Sony receiver here: http://esupport.sony.com/CA/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=STRDE697

Since I don't know what TV you have I cannot list a link to that user guide.
