Red Light Blinks No Picture Or Sound

With Sony, the answer is in the blink code, the color and which indicator is blinking. When a set shuts down then it will cause a blink code to help the technician determine the faulty circuit. It will bink a certain number of times and then pause before repeating.
You could have a set that is not shutting down, it could be the normal start up blink, blink, etc that happens every time you turn it on while the picture tube is warming up and balancing the three colors (red, green and blue), with the exception that the tube is growing old and it has been taking longer and longer to show a picture and stop the blinking. One day the tube just will not meet the standards of the balancing specifications and will not stop blinking. In this case the picture tube is too worn out.
