My Digital Out (optical) Isn't Working On My Sony Kds60a2020.

After hooking up my bose cinemate gs series 2 to the optical out on the tv, there is no sound. Rca plugs works fine. I want the optical out to work for the higher quality. Is there a setting that I have missed? I have checked the connections 4 times. Any ideas?

I have to ask...did you verify that the optical cord is plugged into the correct spots on the back of the TV/receiver? Did you verify that you selected TV on your receiver after it's connected?

What you can do is disconnect and then re-connect each device one at a time. This will determine if any devices aren't correctly hooked up.

You can also check the cords/connections to ensure they're secure/working properly. If necessary, replace the cords with a new set to see if that's the issue.

Still having problems: I would recommend seeking assistance from Sony directly, or seek repairs.
