I Have Sony Kdl-40xbr9 Iwon't Turn On
The remote control is ok , push power on , stand light is off

normally if there is a problem with this model the set will have a blink code (the indicator will blink a certain number of times then pause then repeat). This code is used to determine what section has failed. Since you have no indicator this usually means that there is voltages to light this up, so it's likely the power supply board that has failed (if the AC cord is good and has a good supply): http://www.encompassparts.com/item/8053372/Sony/A-1511-322-D/G5-52_Compl_(Stt)

Recently I have faced the same problem after a power overload. Then I call the customer support and a technician came and inspected the TV. He found that a Transistor in the power circuit (Within TV) was burnt and when he replaced it, the TV was back to normal.
I suggest you call the customer care or take it to a TV repair shop.
