I Have A Sony Kdl40s2010 With No Picture, No Sound.
I have a service manual and have verified the G2power supply voltages are normal. No error codes show on the self-diagnostics. The backlight for the display is on, but pressing the menu button does not produce a menu. The only button that works is the power. Are there any commonly known causes that I should know of before I troubleshoot further?

Everything you have said sounds like it's the T-con board with the exception of the no sound symptom. This may be a hard thing to find out if the sound is not there since you have no picture to confirm what input you have selected. But I would play with the input buttons and the volume up to confirm this really is the case. If you do have audio then I would change the T-con board. Sony has made this available since the service manual was printed. So here is the details as per Sony:

But I found Shop Jimmy (ShopJimmy.com is a great source for parts and reference information) has two listed and one in stock much cheaper: http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-lj94-01070h-t-con-board.htm or http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-lj94-01070k-t-con-board.htm you must confirm the numbers on the board match up with the numbers listed on this page.
The correct way to confirm this board is to put an O-scope on the LVDS cable and then press the menu button to see the presence of this video/data.
