Arc Connections

The Sony HT-CT 150 manual indicates that the hdmi cable box output be connected to the hdmi input for cable on the 150 home theater system and that the ARC hdmi port of this home theater system be connected to an hdmi port on the TV which is a Sony Bravia with 3D. Does the ARC port from the 150 home theater system need to be connected to the ARC port on the TV or will any HDMI port on the TV work? High speed (1.4) hdmi cables are being used for all of the hdmi connections. Also, since the TV programming will be from cable is there any loss of TV functions if the TV tuner is not activated (skipping the ROVI scanning of channels?

only ARC HDMI jacks will work with other ARC ports for the ARC to work. The HDMI signal will work fine, but the Audio Return Channel won't in non-ARC ports
