This DVD has a 480i/p (p if set to progressive which is the preferred setting). The DVD should use the 5 wire (green, blue, red for video, and red and white for the audio) "component" outputs from the DVD to the same colored inputs on the TV. Then with the TV remote you will need to select the input you have used to watch the DVD player. See page 9: http://www.helpowl.com/manuals/sony-dvpsr101p-operating-instructions-e31d9f2.pdf

The TV can also change the name of that input and other settings, but then the model number of the TV is needed to go into any more details.
