Sony Xperia Z
i bought the sony xperia z recently. sony claimed that this is such a good product whereby it is waterproof. this is the reason i am drawn to buy this phone.....that is after watching a few reviews and tests on you tube. however what i dont get is that why is it the warranty does not cover damage from water! the warranty will be voided. i accidently drop my phone into the sink....hey not the swimming pool ...and in went haywire. cant swipe the screen, cant press the on off button and speaker sound jerking evry now and then. Worse is the shop that i bought this phone from does not to deal with sony service centre coz the problem may due to water. now i hv to deal with sony on my own. common sony ....what kind of a gimmick is this. your product is not cheap and u come up with this waterproof crap and no warranty against water. answer me ...somebody from sony perhaps the ceo!

The claims states it's dust & water resistant, not water proof. Sorry to hear that your phone drowned. I did see that the term water proof was used in this article introduced in Berlin. The technical specificationsdo not mention water resistant nor water proof. You have a fair argument for a replacement, go for it! Good luck!
