The player uses 2 LR6 AA batteries. Like any battery the amount of use determines the life of the charge. Here is a Duracell chartthat gives technical data but is still no indicator of a battery real use life. One other thought , have you ever noticed the hugh difference in battery life of your cell phone, between standby hours & continuious talk time hours. Cd player very much the same.
