Sharp Xr-1s Notevision Is There A Substitution Bulb Available

The replacement lamp assembly for the Sharp XR-1S is the AN-XR1LP. Google that and you will find lots of online vendors offering them for sale, including Chinese manufacturers at Alibaba.com. If you are little bit handier and not afraid of getting into the guts of things, you can open the assembly and pull out the bulb and its wires for replacement. The bare bulb appears to be a SHP60 (I'll have to go home and look at mine to confirm that), and is also available from various Chinese manufacturers for prices that range from $100 to $200 less than the complete assembly. I've replaced the whole assembly once (unscrew three screws, swap assemblies, replace the screws, reset lamp life timer, done). Now I've taken the assembly apart (not too hard - just needs a bit of handiman skill) and am looking to replace the bare bulb to save a bunch.
