Frozen Sharp Xe-a207

How do I "unfreeze" a Sharp XE-A207 that will only respond to the paper feed key. I want a solution that does not involve removing the battery, re-set and re-program the unit

This is almost never fixed by removing the battery. Firstly, turn the key to each mode and press clear (CL). Listen for a beep. If it doesn't beep when you press CL, you probably have a faulty keyboard membrane. It should be looked at by a dealer. If it beeps in each mode when CL pressed, turn key back to REG and press CASH (TL) button. If it still doesn't respond, turn key to Program mode, press CL then CASH (TL).
