Seagate Hard Drive Momentus 4200.2:

i did not lose the black piece with the 2 white felt pads that you say is the hard drive heads, i just want to know where it goes inside my hard drive. i cant figure out where it was originally.

Then this piece must be the part that cleans the head disc. if you could see traces of dust on it then that is what it is. Don't take hard drive apart the are not serviceable. If you feel that is your problem them you must replace them.
