How To Remove Samsung Wall-bracket For T260hd Monitor?

Purchased a used Samsung T260HD monitor / tv, with desktop stand and wall-mounting bracket; the wall-bracket was installed when I received the unit.  I can't, however, determine how to remove the bracket from the monitor, short of pulling and yanking on it and the monitor with great force....which I am afraid will damage an otherwise nice piece of equipment.

I had the exact same problem, and originally came here looking for an answer myself.  After finally giving up on finding an answer anywhere I searched, I just went for it, and was able to get it off.

I took an old membership card that is approximately the same thickness as a credit card, and cut it into a 1" strip.  You could probably use an old credit card also, but make sure you use the top portion of the card with no embossed letters, etc.

On the bottom of the monitor, there is a small slot between the monitor and the VESA mount bracket.  I slid the card in approximately 2 1/2 inches until it engaged the "button" that secures the mount inside the monitor.

I then had to force the card in another 3/8 of an inch or so to depress the button, which released the mount.  When I say I had to force it in, I mean I had to use a pair of pliers and wiggle it back and forth to get it in there.

I then tried to pull the mount off, but it still wouldn't budge.  I think this was because the card was now wedged in there.  I ended up taking a rubber mallet and tapped on the top of the mount a few times.  That was enough to get it moving, and I was then able to pull it out of the monitor.

Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.

I had the same problem and used Doyle17361 method. It was not easy at all. I ended up using a small metal ruler (general tools #300 6" ruler) I had laying around I picked up at a tool store at one time. It took quite a bit of force to disengage the button and then much force to push the mount out of the monitor.

Samsung technical support was completely useless. I was transfered six times before supposedly getting to the correct department for help. The guy was nice and took my info to log the call to see if anyone could help me. I was surprised to actually get a call back. But the only reason the lady from Samsung called me back was to say Samsung could not help and refered me to BestBuy even after letting her know I got the Vesa mount directly from Samsung. Seriously? Idiots! No more Samsung for me!
