Dark Picture

When viewing if show has a dark room it is difficult to see images.  This is not the case on old 480 TV.  I have set brightness to 100 but throws off all other colors.  Any suggestions to see images during dark seens

Normally you put the Brightness in the middle, the contrast about 80%, backlight level up till you can see some details in the dark areas of the picture. To minimize the digital defects in the picture (artifacts) turn the sharpness down to 30% and the color level to 40% with tint centered to give a more lifelike picture.
