My Samsung Hl72a650 ; Shifts Hue Slowly On All Video Sources Troubleshootin Tip

This could be the color wheel starting to fail. If you hears a sound like a noisy fan then it's the bearings on the color wheel. It will likely get to a point where it won't start up, since the color wheel needs to maintain the correct speed to sync with the video before the lamp is allowed to start up. But the color wheel is no longer available (BP96-02069A) so the entire optical engine is needed:
