Troubleshooting No Power Coming On With The Appliance
could anyone please tell me what the thing on the back of the dryer that looks like a fuse holder is? It's located near the outlet base and looks like a spade fuse holder with the fuse pulled put

Probably a thermal trip which may be resettable by pushing in. These disconnect power in the event of an overload. If it does not reset then it could have failed and would require replacement but try a push reset first. Manual owl has a user guide if you do not have one to hand.
