Blade Stopping

I was recently given this table saw. Well shortly after turning it on the saw will make a sound and the blade stops. Any suggestions?

Various issues can cause this. One could be that the blade is loose and the nut requires tightening. Check if the motor is stil running when the problem occurs, you should still hear it. If the motor stops it could be the motor has a faulty winding and would require replacement. There could also be a problem with the start/stop switch or even a faulty connection to the supply plug. Always disconnect from the supply before carrying out any maintenance, fingers are hard to replace.
