What Is The Difference Between P542 & P540 Battery Chain Saws?i Want The Best On

i am looking for the best quality and performance as a gift to my hsusband and i need help. thanks

The Ryobi P540/P540A is blue, the P542 and P545 are green. The P542 comes with a battery (P103 small Li-ion) and charger. The P545 is bare (does not include battery), thus the lower price. Not sure if the P540 comes with a battery and charger. If it does, it will likely be the P100 Ni-Cd.
